Be on the Street 2011

BE ARTSY is an unique organization which has taken the initiative to glorify art in every form by not only giving it a suitable platform but also by ‘empowering creative minds’ by training them and giving them the right direction. The purpose of the Youth Programme initiative is to boost Performing Arts, Visual Arts and Literary Arts. The organization has taken its first step towards boosting performing arts by launching their BE ON THE STREET program where students of different colleges perform street plays, hence the name ‘BE ON THE STREET’.

'BE on the Street' is part of Be ARTSY’s Youth Program. it is supported by the united nation information centre under their celebration of international year of youth and it propagates the social and environmental issues.

The idea behind this initiative is to create a platform to upcoming artists, celebrate arts, revive traditional medium of street art and above all provide an unforgettable performing art experience, covering the entire city. This cause has attracted the support of Indian Express, Vodafone, Programme for Life and PETA, who came forward and joined hands with Be ARTSY in propagating the social and environmental issues which festival is trying to convey through the medium of art. BE ON THE STREET ran its supportive programme under which this platform gave a lot of college productions an opportunity to perform at public places. This initiative, for 2010-11, culminated into a competitive episode at DLF promenade, Vasant Vihar, New Delhi from 12-17th February 2011. 'Be on the Street' also offered an opportunity to the participating teams: a discussion forum through which they could improve their production. The session was named Fun and Frolic Battle of Thoughts.

The festival now goes the PAN India route!!
