BOTS 2010 participants - ARSD College(Yeh Dilli Hai)

Delhi- the beautiful capital of an incredible country India. However, its rich cultural heritage fails to make up for its notorious image in street crime.

Topping the crime chart in the country for five years in a row and “not the place to be” if you happen to be a woman, there is a lot that the city needs to learn. A.R.S.D college came up with a street play highlighting the darker side of Delhi. Are we not all entitled with the responsibility of releasing our city from the clutches of rife crime? In order to resolve any issue, the root cause has to be exposed and scrutinized. Delhi reports a rise in number of rape cases and eve-teasing.

"yeh dilli hai..
ladki ki izzat na samjhe...
yeh dilli hai!!"

Several gangrapes, including one at Dhaula Kuan, Sultanpuri and Mandawali in east Delhi, raised uncomfortable questions about women safety in the city.

"Lut rahi ek abaru, phir bhi tu khamosh hai,
Lut raha tera shehar aur ab bhi tu behosh hai!!"

The street play raises an important question of how effectively we contribute to it by being mere spectators to such activities. Let us be the change!
